Robert Ronstadt Obituary

Robert George Ronstadt died on March 30, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on February 8, 1953, in Tucson, Bobby was the seventh of twelve children of Edward Frederick and Mary Catherine Ronstadt. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Terry Carter.

A fourth-generation Tucsonan, Bobby attended SS. Peter & Paul elementary school and graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School in 1971. From an early age, he had a love for music particularly the piano which became a lifelong passion. Bobby dedicated his life to writing, performing, and producing music with bandmates, family, and friends. His musical legacy includes the albums "Shadows in the Dream" (1999), "Out of the Blue" (2021), and a forthcoming posthumous release titled "In to the Black."

Affectionately known as Papa Bob, Bobby George, or simply Bobby, he was also a gifted photographer who inherited his father's artistic eye. He found joy in stargazing and exploring the desert landscape, often seeking out the elusive Peniocereus greggii cactus, the Arizona Queen of the Night and capturing its fleeting beauty through photography.

Bobby is survived by twin sons Jeremy (Michele) and Joshua (Kim) Ronstadt and their families, including five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Jim (Chris) Ronstadt, Margie Meyn, Eddie (Margaret) Ronstadt, John (Jeanne) Ronstadt, Agnes Cathy (Andy) Poore, Bernadette (Robert) Quiroz, Rose Ronstadt, Joanie Santa Cruz, Paul (Natalie) Ronstadt, Tim (Jessica) Ronstadt, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd., Tucson, AZ, on May 31 at 10:30 a.m. A community celebration will follow on June 20 at Monterey Court in Tucson; details are available at montereycourtaz.com. Arrangements by Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary.
