Brenda Ellingwood Obituary

Brenda J. Ellingwood, 71 of Derry, NH died Tuesday July 1, 2025 at her home. Brenda was born in E. Derry, NH on July 28, 1953, a daughter of the late Frank J. Sullivan, Jr. and Elizabeth A. (Chadwick) Bryant. She had resided in Derry since 1987, formerly living in Londonderry.

Brenda was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry Class of 1971. She had been employed as a clerk for the US Postal Service in Manchester for more than 20 years. She had previously worked for Benson's Lumber and Hardware in Derry, and had served as town clerk for the town of Derry.

She is survived by her husband, James M. Ellingwood of Derry, three step-daughters, Dawn M. Wiitala of Barrington, NH, Leah A. Bushnell of Meredith, NH, and Jill R. Abbott of Ft. Myers, FL, seven step-grandchildren, and several step great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday July 8, 2025 from 5 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
