Velma Leona Allen Edwards

Funeral services for Velma Leona (Allen) Edwards, 82, were at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at Copic Baptist Church in Nicut. Burial followed at Long Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Edwards was born on March 20, 1943, in Sequoyah County to Minnie Marie (Turner) Allen and Harvell David Allen. She passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, in Greenwood, Ark.
She married Kenneth Bradford Edwards on May 23, 1959, in Muldrow. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2021.
She dedicated many years to her career at Baldor Electric Company and was a member of Copic Baptist Church.
Survivors are one daughter, Stephanie Shook of Greenwood; three sons, Phillips Edwards of Mountainburg, Ark., Bill Edwards of Muldrow and Brian Edwards and Nina of Muldrow; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kay Vanzandt of Muldrow, Francis Wilson of Van Buren, Ark., and Jeannie Morton of Cedarville, Ark.; two brothers, Shannon Allen of Muldrow and Eual Allen of Fayetteville, Ark., and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Heather Edwards and Chris Edwards; and four brothers, Lex Allen, Mike Allen, Bernis Allen and Doug Allen.
Family members served as pallbearers.
