Ronald Edward Cannon Jr., age 68 of Smyrna, TN passed away on February 14, 2026. He was born in Nashville on December 2, 1957, to parents Ronald Cannon Sr. and Sara Fuller Cannon.
Ronnie, lovingly known as “RC”, is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Tammy Cannon; beloved daughters, Ashley Cannon and Amanda Rittling; son-in-law, Robert Rittling; cherished grandchildren, Noah and Allie Rittling; sister, Ronda Osment, and her husband, George; brother, Dave Cannon; dear family friend, Christian Childers, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Ronnie was a huge sports fan, watching everything from football to baseball, with a distinct preference for the SEC. His favorite team of all was the Florida Gators. He also loved relaxing with his feet in the sand on the beach and going deep-sea fishing whenever he had the chance. Many people who knew Ronnie also knew how generous and charitable he was to his family and those in need. Not only did Ronnie truly give all he could to his family, but he also consistently donated to the Smyrna City Police Department and participated in the Shop with Cops event during the holidays. During his life, Ronnie dedicated himself to his town by working for Metro Water Services for 43 years as a plant supervisor before retiring in 2018.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, with a celebration of life memorial service to follow at 4:00pm at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Murfreesboro.
