Alton Walker Obituary
HOLLIS - "Al" Alton L. Walker, 88, passed away on Nov. 5, 2015, at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. He was born on Oct. 8, 1927, a child of the late Charles and Rose Walker.
Al proudly served in the US Army just after WW II concluded.
He is survived by his beloved wife, "Peg" Margaret (Smith) Walker; children, Susan Walker Dodd and her husband Paul of North Dakota, John Walker and his wife Deb of North Dakota, and Sarah Walker of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He will always be remembered for his love of fishing, motorcycle trips, betting on horses and sports and most importantly – his family.
Al's wife Peg would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff the Maine Veterans Home.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 2-3 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. memorial service with military honors at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Rd. (Rt. 22) in Buxton. The Rev. Don Smith will officiate. Online condolence messages can be submitted at the funeral home's website, www.mainefuneral.com
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
