Jay Steinmetz Obituary

Colonel (Ret.) Jay Steinmetz, of Bealeton, VA, passed away at his home on June 21,2025. He was married to the late Luellen Bird Steinmetz for 41 years and has two married sons and four grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather with a strong commitment to his family, faith, and nation. He was a Command Pilot, a graduate of U.S. Air Force Academy and a Distinguished Graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology. He is survived by his sons and their wives, Alan Jay and Anna Walker Steinmetz and their children Alexis Christine and Alison Jayne; Todd Stephen and Leslie Danielle Steinmetz and their children Savannah Lynn and Dallas Jay; and his sister Karen Steinmetz Myer-Ferrell. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles O. and Bernadine L. Steinmetz, his cherished wife, Luellen Bird Steinmetz, and by his brother Robert C. Steinmetz and his wife Deborah. Visitation will be at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, VA on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Warrenton United Methodist Church, 341 Church St., Warrenton, VA with reception in memorial hall to follow.
