Joanne Daniel Obituary

Joanne Altieri Daniel passed away at the age of 69 on May 12, 2024, after a long fight against Alzheimers. She is survived by her husband, Cushing Daniel III; two daughters, Lauren Daniel and Anne Kelley and her son-in-law, David Kelley. She was a wife and mother to both human and dog children. Kind, feisty, loving and loyal; those that she loved existed in the center of her world. Born in Springfield, PA to Albert and Theresa Altieri, she had her childhood and early life there. She attended Rosemont College where she met her best friend Kate, the one who would eventually introduce her to Cushing, her husband of 41 years and Kate's first cousin. She moved to the Washington, DC area with Cushing in 1983 where they started their family; two children and many golden retrievers. She received a master's degree in special education and became a teacher at the IvyMount School. Her true passion always was her family. She was beloved and will be missed by all. Her services will be On Tuesday, June 4 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac, Maryland. The family asks in lieu of flowers please make donations on Joanne's behalf to the Alzheimer's Association.
