Ann Wentworth Sayles

Ann Sayles Obituary

nn Wentworth Sayles died on September 27, 2025. She was 87. Born in Washington, DC, she was the eldest child of Catherine Ann Massey and Marchant Tucker Wentworth. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and received a BA in Psychology from George Washington University. Her first marriage to Robert Carl Raybold ended in divorce. Ann's best friend's brother agreed to take Ann to her senior prom. Decades later, they met again, fell in love and were married, two musicians on the same score. A born listener, Ann applied her talents at the personnel office of the Federal Reserve and later as Director of Human Resources at the Center for Applied Linguistics where she was reknown for her "hands-on" solutions to personnel problems. Upon retirement, she devoted her time to volunteering at her church, St. Barnabus Episcopal church in Annandale, and of course, tending to her latest crossword puzzle. She is survived by a younger brother, Marchant Wentworth, two children, Dana Ann Edwards and Thom Wentworth and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Edwards. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Barnabus Episcopal church in Annandale on November 8, 2025.
