Susan Driesen Obituary

Susan Rachel Driesen (née Demby) died peacefully at home on July 24, 2025.

Born to Helen and Michael Demby of the Bronx, New York, on January 13, 1933, Sue graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1954. She was the Senior Editor at Health Affairs for 20 years, and throughout her life was also a singer, actress, dancer, and music teacher.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Rabbi George B. Driesen; her sister, Marian Freedman; her children, David (Jeanne Otten), Jeremy (Jeanette Nealon), and Naomi (Nathan Bixby); and her beloved grandchildren, Mirrah, Aliyah, Helen, Kim, Mai, and Henry.

She will be remembered by family and friends for her beautiful voice and joyous laugh. The Funeral took place at Adat Shalom on July 27, 2025.
