Robert Wagoner Obituary
ROBERT WAYNE WAGONER
Bob (Bobby) Wagoner, age 68, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at his log cabin home on Grand Lake, OK.
Bob was born on October 25, 1956, in Wichita, KS, to Wayne and Dianne Wagoner. He grew up on the family homestead in Milan, KS, and graduated from Argonia High School in 1975. One word to describe his childhood would be hell-raiser. His many careers throughout the years included truck driving, working for Boeing, custom harvesting, and rebuilding transmissions. He married Leigh Ann Johnston in 2014, celebrating eleven years of marriage in February.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dianne Wagoner, and his brothers-in-law: Glenn Haines and Edwin Amrein.
Survivors include his loyal wife, Leigh Wagoner of Eucha, OK; father Wayne Wagoner of Wellington, KS; daughter Cassity (Jeff) Brungardt and sons: Jason (Cayenne) Wagoner, and Justin Wagoner-all of Wellington, KS; grandchildren Ethan Brungardt, Sevyn Wagoner, and Jackie Brungardt; and step-children Jessica (and children) Willson, and Jim Willson. Additional survivors include his five siblings: Kenny (Julie) Wagoner, Debbie Haines, John Wagoner, Karen Amrein, and Scott Wagoner. He has numerous nieces and nephews whom he teased mercilessly along with his children and grandchildren throughout the years.
Bob enjoyed spending time on the lake with Leigh; in the company of his 13-year-old shih tzu/poodle mix, Chewy; the TV show Yellowstone; and a well-made German chocolate cake. He gave anyone he met a hard time. He was outspoken and stubborn, but underneath all of the gruff was a man who loved his family in his own way and was one of the hardest-working men you could ever meet. He was a Dodge pickup loyalist, gun enthusiast, and a hell of a mechanic. None of his children ever beat him in a foot race or won against him at arm wrestling, even though they tried tirelessly too in the 1990s. He always had a big idea-some of them worked and many did not, but he never stopped dreaming them up.
By Bob's wishes, there will be no formal service as cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned for later in the summer. Condolence cards can be sent to his wife, Leigh Ann Wagoner, at 251 Waynoka Drive, Eucha, Oklahoma, 74342.
