Giuseppa Volanti Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Giuseppa (Pina) Fiducia Volanti, who departed this life peacefully at the age of 94. Giuseppa, beloved wife of the late Matteo Volanti, was a remarkable woman who built a beautiful legacy for her family. Born June 21st, 1931 in Floridia, Sicily, Italy, Giuseppa embodied the spirit and resilience of her homeland. In 1970, she bravely embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to the United States and making Hartford, Connecticut, her cherished home. Here, she cultivated a life rich in love and family devotion. Giuseppa's greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of four children: Salvatrice Pacheco and her husband Rafael; Maria DiPaola; Antonio Volanti; and Lucrezia Budonaro and her husband Roberto. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Pasquale DiPaola, who was married to Maria and passed away earlier this year. Giuseppa was also a loving grandmother to Giuseppe, Rossella, Gabriella, Jessica, Isabella, Christina, Andre, Laura, Alessandra, Matteo, Stephanie and their families which includes thirteen Great-grandchildren. Her home was always filled with warmth, the aroma of her cooking, and the laughter of generations gathered around her. She instilled in her family the values of love and hard work, leaving a lasting mark on each of their lives. Giuseppa will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on in the generations she helped shape - through the traditions she passed down, the values she instilled, and the love she gave so freely. She was strong. She was kind. She was everything a Mother and Nonna should be. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her devoted family. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield.
