Philip LaBonte Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Philip O. LaBonte III, 37 of Thomaston who passed away on June 23, 2025 in a tragic accident. Philip was born on October 22, 1987 in Hartford, CT a son of Elizabeth Behuniak of Naugatuck and the late Philip LaBonte, Jr. He graduated from Crosby HS in Waterbury then went on to get an associate's degree in Plumbing/HVAC. He currently was employed at Winzz Supply. Above all else Philip loved his children and was a devoted father who modeled love, gentleness and devotion. His most enjoyable times were spent at the beach with his Philip "Smalls and Sydney "SJ". He would do anything for his children. Philip beamed with pride cheering on his son as he played in his baseball games and watching his daughter's gymnastics. As he spoke about them to friends, the love he had for his kids would radiate from his face. Phil was an avid marksman and was vice president of the Prospect Gun Club. He spent a great deal of time at the range with his brother and grandfather. Above all else, Phil was a family man. His children's happiness was his first priority. He will surely watch over them from heaven and be their guardian angel always. Phil leaves to cherish his love and memory his children Philip LaBonte IV and Sydney LaBonte and their mother Kathleen LaBonte as well as his brother Matthew Carniero, his mother Elizabeth Behuniak, grandparents Sandra LaBonte and Samuel and Mary Behuniak, as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Phil is predeceased by his father Philip Jr. and grandfather Philip Sr. Arrangements: Visitation will be held on Thursday July 10, 2025 from 4:30pm to 7pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect.
