Betty Dirks Obituary

Dateline: Hardin Betty Jo Dirks, 92, of Hardin, IL, passed away peacefully in her home on June 29, 2025. She was born April 16, 1933, in Coldwater, KS, daughter of Grace and Lester Booth. She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Donld Booth, also a grandson Anthony, and a great granddaughter, Daphne. Her husband, Keith A. Dirks passed away May 31, 2017. They both were happily married for 65 years. Both were members and officers of the local Presbyterian Church. Surviving children, a daughter, Teresa Benz and her husband Mike, a son Bryan Dirks and his wife Terri. Four grandchildren, Desiree, Lerin, Courtney, and Bryant. Five great grandchildren, Taylor, Chance, Zoe, Brody, and Colton. Betty showed her ponies at Illinois county horse shows, painted oil portraits and landscapes, was a master seamstress and quilt maker. She loved to tour Hardin in her electric golf cart. She loved her family, home, neighbors, and Calhoun County. The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Silver Creek Cemetery in Kampsville, IL. Arrangements are being handled by Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Presbyterian Church in Hardin or Silver Creek Cemetery.
