William Edwards Obituary
William (Bill or W.O.) O'Brien Edwards was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and died in his home in Nauvoo, Illinois, on Sunday, June 29, 2025, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 12, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nauvoo. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery north of Hamilton with military rites by the United States Army Honor Guard and Hancock County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday evening, July 10th at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton and from 9– 10 a.m.Saturday morning at the church. The family would like all scouts, leaders, and past scouts to wear their class A uniforms if possible. In lieu of flowers, the family asks please make donations to the Campership Fund-Mississippi Valley Scout District. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.

Bill was a dear, close, exceptionally good-natured QHS friend for whom I'd been unsuccessfully searching through recent decades.
In high school Bill was an oustanding French horn player with us in band and orchestra. His senior year he sat ahead of Jerry Montgomery-who won first chair in Illinois' All-State Band or Orchestra the following two years, and later became a decades-long member of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Bill was also a fine athlete who was awarded 5th in the fitness contest among around 1,000 QHS boys and with whom I often played football. I miss him!

It is with great sadness that I see where Bill passed away. Did not know until today. He was a great guy to work with as well as a nice friend. Thinking of family and friends through this difficult time.
