Richard Underhill Obituary

Richard R. Underhill, 88, died Monday, September 17, 2018, after a long illness. Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Keenan) Underhill; his children, Pamela Underhill of Scituate, Peter Underhill and his wife Nancy of Chelsea, Christine Dunn and her husband Brian of Kingston, Jonathan Underhill and his wife Jo Ann of Hanover, Ellen Hannon and her husband Brian of Scituate: his grandchildren, Kevin Donovan, Margaret and Sam Dunn, Matthew and Elizabeth Underhill, Ryan and Brendan Hannon; a sister, Margaret Underhill of New Canaan, Conn.; a sister, Mary Kaufman of Westport, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Katherine Donovan of Scituate, and his brother, Peter K. Underhill of New Canaan, Conn. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Lois B. Kraeger and Reginald B. Underhill. Mr. Underhill had been employed by the U.S. Naval Food & Research Development, Dunkin Donuts, Angelo's Supermarkets and Eastern Processing. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict and was a member of several veterans' associations. He also enjoyed sailing, camping, traveling and gardening. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Richard from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, in the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset, followed by a prayer service, and a graveside service at Cudworth Cemetery, Scituate.
