Aleise Jessup Obituary

Mrs. Aleise W. Jones Jessup departed this life on Saturday evening, March 21, 2026, at 6:50pm at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

Aleise was born to Mr. Raleigh William Jones and Mrs. Clarastine Palmer Jones in New York, New York, on January 13, 1944. Most of her growing up years were in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Aleise grew up in a loving family environment.

Aleise was a graduate of J.J. Jones High School in Mount Airy, North Carolina. She continued her education at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. Aleise graduated with a double major in English and Library Science. When she received her Bachelor of Arts degree, she wisely continued her education and completed a masters degree in Library Science. Aleise's work experience was extensive and varied. She had at least one year of experience at the elementary, junior high, high school, and college level. The heart of her work experience was at North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Aleise worked at least forty years as a Media Center Specialist at North Forsyth High School. When she retired, her replacement said she did not realize she was following a "legend".

Aleise received the distinction of being certified by the National Board for Professional Standards. She was a member of FACT, NCAE, and NEA professional organizations. Aleise was a member of the state and local Media Center Associations. Also, she was a dedicated member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and the Book Club.

Aleise was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for over thirty years. She was an active member who served in many church roles: Choir member, Finance Stewardess, Usher, and honorary member of the Lonnie Nesmith Sick and Shut-in Ministry.

Aleise was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh (Clarastine) Jones and sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Jones Webb. To cherish her loving memory, Aleise leaves behind her devoted husband of 57 years, John Curtis Jessup; her daughters: Monica Jessup of Clarksville, MD; Melanie Eubanks of Charlotte, NC; and Revonda Jessup of Cornelius, NC; two brothers are James Julian Jones of Lewisville, NC, and Reginald Barnard Jones (Ann) of Winston-Salem, NC; her grandchildren whom she cherished are Ty Jessup, Jaden Eubanks, Taylor Eubanks, and Jackson Jessup.

The Jessup family acknowledges special appreciation for Starr Busler and Shawn Widmyer, caregivers, and Caltonio Ivory, physical therapist, for their tender loving care to Aleise W. Jones Jessup. Special appreciation is given to a dedicated and loving best friend, Theresa Johnson.

The funeral will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church on Friday, March 27th at 1:00pm at 2400 Dellabrook Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27105.

My heartfelt condolences to Dr. Revonda Jessup and her entire family during this difficult time. Although I didn't have the opportunity to know your mother personally. I can see her legacy reflected in the compassion, professionalism and care that Dr. Jessup shows every day. A mother's love and guidance shape who we become, and it's clear she poured so much into her family. Praying that God grants you all strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead, and that you find solace in the many beautiful memories you shared.
