Robert Shore Obituary

Robert Dean Shore, 77, entered his eternal rest on April 20, 2025, at Inova Hospital in Alexandria, VA. He was born on December 11, 1947 to the late Samuel Lee Shore and Margaret Matthews Shore of Yadkin County. He was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Velma Shore McMillian. He is survived by his twin brother, Samuel Eugene Shore Sr., and youngest sister, Cynthia Shore-Bradshaw. Robert was a graduate of Anderson High School, class of 1966. He then pursued further education at Forsyth Technical College and Hood Theological Seminary and later retired from the Pentagon in 2001. Robert was a devoted member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in W-S, NC, since childhood before continuing his life in Washington, DC, and Alexandria, VA. Robert leaves behind his six beloved children, Robert McCloud, Tamala (Eric) Boyce, who provided unwavering comfort and peace during his final days; Rodney (Angela) Cooper, Robbie Shore, Sheena Shore, and Sherry Loudin. He is also survived by his nieces, LaSha' (Michael) Robinson, Keasia Lineberger, and Kristian Shore; his nephew, Samuel Eugene Shore Jr.; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory dearly. Robert will be deeply missed for his hilarious sense of humor and daily text messages with weather updates, political insights, and a word of encouragement from the Lord.
A memorial service honoring Robert Shore will be held on May 9, 2025 at Antioch Baptist Church, located at 5061 Lansing Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the same location.
