Tom and I are so sorry to learn of Jane's passing. I first met Jane in junior high school in September of '65 where we both had freshman science with Mr. Bevens on the third floor of the old civic center. Having just come from the local Catholic school where science classes didn't exist, I felt like a fish out of water having never seen a Bunsen burner or lab tables or any of the other paraphernalia. It was in that class that I was introduced to both Jane Madland and John Litscher for the first time. Jane was an absolute riot and her sense of humor was the first thing I noticed about her. I last saw her at our 1969 class reunion at the Baraboo Country Club in September of 2024, and despite, her physical limitations, she was just as bright and cheerful and full of life as the day I met her. As has happened to me dozens of times now when someone crosses over, I had just thought of her this week out of the blue. I like to think it was a "heads up" and a wink and a nod from someone who made it to the other side of the veil with no problem at all. Rest in peace, Jane. With sympathy, Sue (King) Holmes
