In Loving Memory Carol Ann McGowan December 26, 1943 – June 29, 2025 CAMDEN, NY - Carol Ann McGowan, 81, of Camden, NY, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. Born on December 26, 1943, in Utica, NY, Carol was the beloved daughter of the late Herbert L. and Anna T. McGowan. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend-known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for those around her. She is survived by her sister, Maryann (McGowan) Tyler; her brother, David H. McGowan; nieces and nephews, Jason Tyler, Maxwell D. McGowan, and Sidney L. McGowan; and great-nephews, Connor and Ryan Tyler. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Richard Tyler, and her nephew, Mathew Tyler. Carol had a lifelong passion for music, especially the piano. For over thirty years, she dedicated herself to teaching piano lessons to students throughout Camden and the surrounding areas. Her home was filled with the sound of music and laughter, and she cherished every recital, every lesson, and every student she had the joy of mentoring. Her legacy lives on in the lives of the many students she inspired with her patience and encouragement. In addition to being a piano teacher, Carol served for many years as a teaching assistant at Camden Central School. She was respected for her professionalism and loved for her cheerful spirit. Carol also enjoyed traveling with her family, including memorable trips to Hawaii and Italy-experiences she treasured and often spoke of. A devout Catholic, Carol found great joy and comfort in her faith. She loved attending Mass and faithfully served her parish community as a member of St. John's Altar Rosary Society and the St. John's Bereavement Committee. Her service reflected her compassionate heart and deep spiritual devotion. She will be remembered for her gentle nature, her devotion to family and faith, and the joy she shared through music.
