Joan Smith Obituary

Joan E. Smith Cedarville/Pennsburg, PA Joan E. Smith, 80, of Pennsburg, PA and formerly of Cedarville, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown, PA, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on February 11, 1945 in Ilion, NY, the daughter of Russell and Dorothy (Burns) Greene. Joan graduated from West Winfield Central High School and furthered her education at the Utica School of Commerce. On September 6, 1969, Joan was united in marriage to Loren A. Smith in Ilion and shared a blessed union of 56 years. She was employed with Univac in Utica as a secretary, but her most important job was raising her three boys. Joan enjoyed knitting, jigsaw puzzles, painting and reading. She cherished the times spent with her beloved grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Loren, Pennsburg, PA; sons, Aaron Smith, Derry, NH, Stacey (Karen) Smith, Zionsville, PA and Shane (Joelle) Smith, Emmaus, PA and grandchildren, Sarah, Kate, Molly and Jack. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Greene. Joan's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurse's and staff with Lehigh Valley Hospice for all their care and compassion. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation. Interment will be in Cedarville Cemetery. Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 365 West Main St., West Winfield. Remembrances in Joan's name may be made to the charity of your choice. Online tributes at www.dimblebyfh.com
