Gordon Corning Obituary

Gordon F. Corning, 93, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in Alpine Fireside Healthcare Center. He was born October 26, 1931 in Beloit, WI, the son of Charles and Winnifred (Meyers) Corning. Gordon attended Dixon State School, Dixon, IL. Gordon was formerly employed by St. Anthony, GE, Valsper and Left Hander Chassis. He enjoyed shopping, working on stock cars and anything to do with racing. Survivors include his nieces, Cynthia Sievert and Mischel "Mickey" (Curt) Rush; nephew, Gerald Corning; 10 great nephews; one great niece; numerous great-great nieces and nephews; step brother, Donald "Don" Ward; other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Charles; sister, Elizabeth Coleman; three half-sisters, Eva, Vivian and "Freddie"; aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial service for Gordon will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2025 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with Pastor Larry Froemming officiating. Inurnment will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home. Live streaming of the service will be viewable.
