Paul Thompson Obituary

Paul Terry Thompson, 74 of Cherokee, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 in his home surrounded by loved ones. His memorial service will be Monday, March 31, 2025at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee with Billy George and Dee Towns officiating.Terry was a member of Asphalt Rock Baptist church. He believed in hard work, retiring from AL DOT after 44 years. He cut wood for bbq places and did lawn care as well. He also loved to grow a big garden.He loved music and singing with his daughters and granddaughter on the porch, in the car, or anywhere. He loved dancing, fishing, horseshoes, Roll Tide football, and spending time with his family.Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Henry and Ola Mae Hamm Thompson; sister, Mary Lee Elliott; and brother, Larry Thompson.He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Geneva Ann Thompson; daughter, Tammy Jaynes (Terry), and Amanda Evans (Lee); son, Joshua Thompson (Mirranda); siblings, Joyce Bradley, Linda Kay Smallwood (Larry), Kathy Wilbanks, and Jimmy Dale Thompson (Hope); 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Mobley, Michael Rutland, Kenneth Mobley, Justin Mobley, and Jeffery Thompson.Special thanks to Teresa Davis, Aveanna Hospice, and Emily, RN.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer / Dementia Associations.
