ALLAN "AJ" EUGENE CANCIL JR.
January 18, 1980 December 4, 2020
AJ passed away unexpectedly and joined his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the age of 40. He will forever be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
AJ was born on January 18, 1980 to Allan Cancil and Karen (Wolff) Redfern in Colorado Springs, CO. He attended Wasson High School and received his welding certification from Pikes Peak Community College.
AJ was an amazing father to his beautiful daughter Cheyenne. He loved working on projects with her, teaching her how to work on cars, working at the Haunt, and guiding her to be the strong, amazing woman she has become. AJ met his fiancee Missy in January 2018, and they shared an eternal love for each other. They were to be married in 2021. He always enjoyed spending time with friends and family and with his faithful pups Sam and Buca. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycles and quads and loved being out on his boat. AJ worked at the Newmont Cripple Creek Gold Mine as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 19 years.
He is survived by his loving wife to be, Missy; his beautiful daughter Cheyenne, his faithful boys Sam and Buca; his parents: Karen and Royce Redfern and Allan and Maryanne Cancil; his sister: Colleen (& Larry - husband) Brown, and by aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and "brothers". He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Frank and Verna Cancil and George and Doris Wolff; his uncles: Dan Cancil and George "Jr" Wolff; many of his "brothers", and his loyal dog Keno.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 15 at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel,1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, December 15 at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expy., Colorado Springs, CO, 80903.
Due to current restrictions masks and social distancing are required. The service will be live streamed and recorded.

It is with a heavy heart that my family and I write this. AJ was the perfect neighbor and just a good person. He always had a wave and a smile. Through tears my husband recalled the many times he came home from work to find him under one of the older children’s cars helping them not only to fix them but to teach them how. I have no doubt he would have done the same with the littles. We lost our dogs Cassie and Keno around the same time and laughed at the shinnanigins the new dogs Sam and Chloe got into, then Buca and Judge. You had a wonderfully positive impact on our family and you will be forever in our hearts and minds. Our deepest and sincerest condolences go out to Missy and Cheyanne and the rest of your family. I only met AJ once when we came to Colorado to visit my brother Royce, Karen, my sister in law, and my sister Mary and her husband BT. I wish I could come to be with you all at this time. I am so sad about your loss. I am sending Prayers and you are always in my thoughts. Hug each other tighter through all this, I know AJ is still with you all in spirit. Our deepest sympathy, Your Indiana family members.
