Allison Ames Obituary

Allison C. Ames entered heaven Thursday, February 9, 2006. Cancer never took her grace, beauty, faith, sense of humor or love for her family and friends. Allison was born November 22, 1963 in Burien, WA. She grew up in Fircrest, WA, and attended Whittier Elementary, Wilson High School and Washington State University. After graduation, she worked in the insurance industry. On July 16, 1988, Allison married Steve Ames and became stepmother to Nicole Ames. The family resided in Puyallup. On June 23, 1992, Allison gave birth to Jack Ames, who always remained the joy of her life. In October 2001, the family moved to Colorado Springs where Allison worked for the USAA and met her amazing and loving circle of friends. She enjoyed many hours volunteering at Colorado Springs Christian School. Allison is survived by her dedicated and loving husband, Steve Ames; beloved son, Jack; and devoted stepdaughter, Nicole Lackie; as well as parent, Bill and Vonnie Cowan of Fircrest, WA; and sister, Erin Byrne and family: John, Keilan and Brendan. Memorial Service will be Monday, February 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Woodman Valley Stone Chapel. Contributions are welcome to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite 600, 80903. I worked with Allison when she was at Allstate Insurance Company in Washington State. She was a claims representative handling bodily injury claims and I was Allstate's defense attorney. She was both bright and compassionate,a rare combination. She treated everyone with dignity and respect. I missed working with her when she moved to Colorado Springs. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

Ames Family:

I would like to extend a healing hand to all of you. At only 27, I have experienced the death of 5 dear friends all in unexpected circumstances. It is a difficult time but also a wonderful chance to cling to each other and help one another to heal and grow. Family was very important to Allison and I know she is there to help comfort you from above. Her flaming red hair and her great smile will always remain a vivid memory. Be comforted knowing that she touched so many lives and we all felt genuinely cared for. Every laugh and smile was heartfelt and could cheer up anyone's day. My family will keep you all in our prayers.
