Andrew Koch Obituary

Andrew Michael Koch, 22 passed away unexpectedly December 5th, 2009 He is survived on his father's side by his father, Chriss and his father's fiancée', Tina Barton, on his mother's side by mother, Melody Gustafson and step-father, Glenn, and by his siblings: brother, Nicholas and sister, Alyxandra. He is also survived by Grandfather Glenn Koch and Grandmother Evalyn Keiser, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by Grandparents Lester Keiser and Karen Koch. He graduated from Palmer High School International Baccalaureate program in 2005 and attended the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and Pikes Peak Community College. Andrew also leaves behind a multitude of friends who cherished him. Everyone who knew Andrew was drawn to his sensitive nature, intelligence and quick wit. He loved to 4-wheel in his Jeep Wrangler, ride his motorcycle, play frisbee golf, fish, ski, gardening, fireworks and his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was an affectionate and loving son, and his passing leaves an enormous hole in our lives. He just could not love himself the way he loved his family and friends. He was deeply loved by his mom, his dad, step-parents, siblings and extended family. We pray his soul is at peace now, but will miss him and love him forever. Memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 17750 Knollwood Dr, Monument, CO. In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made in Andrew's name to HEARTBEAT, an aftercare program of the Suicide Prevention Partnership, PO Box 16985, Colorado Springs, Co, 80935-6985.

My three children attended Palmer, and three other relatives also attended Palmer; one graduated the same year as Andrew. My oldest graduated in 2004 and unexpectedly died November 20, 2008. This past year has been a nightmare, but I have been told that eventually we come to accept that which is totally unacceptable. I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful son. I think we may have some similarities, so please feel free to contact me. May God grant mercy to us all.
