Antonio Villa Obituary

Our beloved Antonio M. Villa (Tony) went peacefully in his sleep on April 29th and is now with our Lord Jesus. He was born in Clovis N.M. on January 17th 1932, to Eusevio and Anita (Mosqueda) Villa. He graduated from Clovis High School, then was an Air Force air traffic controller during the Korean War. With the aid of the G.I. Bill, Tony got his Bachelor's from ENMU in 1960.

He married his wife Adela Catherine Chavez in 1954. In 1962, our family moved to Colorado Springs where Antonio became the first Mexican accountant in the area. He helped others prepare their taxes for over 50 years and was known as a very hard working man. He did whatever it took to provide for our family. At one time, he even wrote and published his own book on how to prepare taxes.

Tony is survived by his sisters Mary Esther Marin, Chole Lucero, Diane Durwin, Gloria (Antonio) Marin and his children Ricardo E. (wife Holly), Tony R., Chisna L.B. Gayap, and Ana (husband Brad) Neighbor and his best friend Tae Sun Latal.

Tony also left behind numerous nieces and nephews as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren. Antonio will be very sadly missed but his heart and memories will live on with us forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Frank, his ex-wife Adela, and daughter Diane E.

The viewing will be on Thursday, May 5th from 3:30 to 5:00 with the rosary to follow from 5:00 to 5:30 at Cappadona's Funeral Home, 1020 E. Fillmore. Funeral at St. Paul's Catholic Church. 9 E. El Pomar Rd. at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 6th.

I considered Antonio a good friend. He was an honest man who consistently strived to help people. He had a great sense of humor, was very professional & an all around very decent human being. I miss Antonio & am certain I do not stand alone in that respect. May our good Lord keep his soul in eternal peace !!!
