Mrs. Ingersoll was a gracious woman... she taught me alot about life. from protecting our environment to being a strong christian wife ... In her last years I was saddened that we couldn't have the same talks we used to. Still I held close ti the values she taught me as a young girl. She was kind and very patient. When hired on during the sumner years to do odd jobs in her home such as clean out garage or organize her closet or the wine cellar she would pass by and check on me.... my timid self would fear I had upset her when she saw the mess I'd created during the process. But she would always remind me, " It's got to get worse- before It gets better" and when the job was complete she always made a point to applaud me voicing how she would have never been able to complete the task with as much success as I did. In her hallway library one of her ancestors had published a book of poems. One of my most favorite childhood memories was when I would go down to the ranch- I would pull that book from the shelf and read what had become my first favorite poem in the world- " THE LADY OF TEARS" i loved it so much it never never got old to me. Feeding the hummingbirds, and wild turkey around her home was amazing to me. Also playing in the bix cart her and Mr. Ingersoll stayed in while they built their home. That became me and my siblings "club house" when we were kids. I hope Mrs. Ingersoll knows I love her... I hope she knows she out a profound imprint on my life that will carry with me all the years of my life.
