Bertha Flynn Obituary

Bertha Lois Flynn, (Bert), age 85, passed away October 4, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born August 24, 1926 daughter, of the late Louis and Johanna Czarniecki. Bert met and for 13 years was married to Chester Anthony Potenta (Chet) and together had a daughter, Gloria. Chet passed away October 27, 1964. She later in life met and married John Leo Flynn, June 26, 1978, who passed away December 2, 2007. She also had 1 sister and 6 brothers who preceded her in death. Bert always loved piano music, spiritual reading, swimming, gardening and trips to the mountains. She had a strong spiritual belief and was dearly loved by her family and friends. Bert is survived by her daughter, Gloria Roby (Chuck), three grandchildren, Krysten, Brendan and Taryn of Westminster, CO, and her sister Regina Tyszkiewicz of Groton, CT. Bert owned and operated her own beauty salon for 8 years, became a bus driver for School Dist.3 and parochial schools, and retired from Schlage Lock Co. after 14 years of service. She was once an active member of St. Francis of Rome Circle at Holy Family Parish in Security, and later a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Colorado Springs. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, October 9, 2011, with a Rosary following at 7:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 5354 S. Hwy 85/87, Security, Colorado. Interment at Evergreen Cemetary, 1005 S.
