It is with the heaviest hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce W. Richards, 78, of Colorado Springs, CO. Bruce was born in Trenton, NJ to William and Elizabeth Richards. He served as a US Army officer for over 20 years, including 2 tours in Vietnam and 11 duty posts, finally retiring to Colorado Springs in 1988. Bruce lived every day serving God, his family and his country. He will be missed by those who survive him, daughter Daphne Burlingame (Martin), son Bruce Richards Jr (Bobbi), grandchildren Laurel, Grant and Indyra, and siblings Patricia Dinnell, Renee Dzurinko and George Richards. He was welcomed into Heaven by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Richards, his brother Dick Richards, and his parents. Memorial service to be held March 11, 2022 at 1030 at First Presbyterian Church, followed by full military honors at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 1 p.m. View full obituary at evergreenfuneralhome.org.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I worked with Bruce at Sears auto center. A Brother in masonry also. Loved his favorite saying was cheese and crackers. He was a very good man, and Soldier. God's strength to you All.

If you would like help with any matters related to casualty assistance, Defense Finance & Accounting Service, Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), Veterans Affairs (VA), etc. you can contact our office on Buckley SFB at 720-847-6693. The RAO is staffed by volunteers, all military retirees themselves, and our sole purpose is to provide assistance to any military retirees and surviving spouses/family members with anything related to their military service and/or benefits, in particular during difficult times such as this.
