Calvin Sparks Obituary

Wonderful husband to Toni and "Dad" to Bill, Chuck, and Mary, and Grandpa Cal to Sara Clare, and Aeden, lost his battle to recover from the complications of a stroke. The angels came and now he shares his vast knowledge of military history, airplanes, and weaponry with other departed veterans.

Cal retired from the US Air Force in 1979 out of Cheyenne Mountain and spent the remainder of his working years as a government contractor computer analyst. He was a member of the NRA, Air Force Association, and The Smithsonian Society.

Toni and Cal met in the Blazer Ski Club in 1978 and married that same year. They had almost 38 years together as soul mates.

A special private celebration of life is planned for May. Friends will be contacted as to date, place, and time.

Donations in Cal's name can be made to the Commemorative Air Force, PO Box 1380, Merrifield, VA 22116-1380.

I enjoyed knowing Cal at Antillies High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I miss his good nature and infectious smile as well as doing things with him such as: sports, beaches, cars, and our dances. Toni, he was a GREAT person - I am so sorry for your loss. I have a really deep feeling of emptiness and will remember him with great joy.

I did not know Cal as well as I would have liked, but we did have a few things in common like airplanes and NORAD. The one time I saw his Man Cave I was very impressed with the adult toys he had in there!

He will be missed.

We'll truly miss him at our dinners out together. What will Halloween (his birthday) dinners be without him?
I know he truly loved Toni & was blessed for 38 years.
You'll always be in our thoughts Cal.
