In Loving Memory of Carol Diane Huffman
Carol Diane Huffman (Lohr), 75 passed into heaven on June 19, 2024. Carol was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her compassionate nature as well as her unwavering love and commitment towards everyone in her life.
Carol was born in Colorado Springs on November 1, 1948, the oldest of three sisters. She moved to Manitou in 1961 and attended Manitou Springs High School later earning her Licensed Practical Nursing degree at Pikes Peak Community College. She worked for Penrose Hospital,
El Paso County, and the Garden of the Gods Nursing Home for 17 years where she provided comfort and healing to all of those she cared for.
Throughout her life, she loved and cared for her family and friends, just as she would nurture her colorful flower pots each season. She cheered for the Colorado Rockies alongside the love of her life, her husband Lance.
Carol leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, Lance Huffman, her son Matthew Huffman and wife Leslie, her daughter Rhonda Huffman, and sister Julie Lohr and husband Tome Andrade. Her four beautiful granddaughters, Amanda, Sara and Vanessa Huffman, and Ava Huffman were the light of her life. She shared baking techniques, fairy gardens, and endless crafts and love with them.
Carol also leaves behind her nephew Michael Donner and wife Brittney, her niece Janell Donner, her niece Jacquelyn Lohr Andrade, and her brother in law Bob Donner as well as her five cherished great nephews and nieces.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy Lohr, and her sister Deborah Donner.
Carol's spirit will continue to live on in all of the lives and hearts she has touched and warmed.
Donations in Carol's memory may be made to the Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region.
Graveside funeral service will take place Thursday, July 18 at 10:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs for family and close friends.
