Beloved sister, friend, aunt, and partner. Barbara Applegate passed away on October 23rd, 2024. Barbara graduated from Manitou Springs High School in 1969 and lived in Manitou most of her life. She was briefly married to Mike Flynn (the Dutch Kitchen) and later married Don Applegate who succumbed to cancer. Barbara's years with Don were some of the happiest of her life.
She was predeceased by brother Donald and Thomas, and is survived by brothers Darold and Randall as well as sisters Shirley and Patricia and many nieces and nephews. Barbara Lived a full and loving life of generosity, travel, music and laughter. She made many trips and always invited others. Las Vegas, NYC, Alaska, and Mantioba are just few examples of her love and discovery. She also loved theater and the Denver Nuggets! She was always up for plays and concerts, and cheered on her favorite basketball team every season.
Barbara will be remembered by all as a woman with an enormous heart and a ready laugh. If Barbara was laughing the whole room was laughing!
A memorial service will be held on August 10th at the Mansion Park on Lovers Lane in Manitou Springs from 2:00-4:00 PM.

Barbara was one of my very best friends. We had so many wonderful memories together. She was caring, understanding, supportive, and REAL! Over the years we always kept in contact. I wasn´t able to see her as much as I would have liked to, but I was able to say good-bye and tell her I loved her. She knew that I loved her and I think we both appreciated our friendship that we had for 30+years. I miss her laugh, her voice and her calls. We will see each other in the other side. Heaven has gained another angel! I will forever hold on to the memories! Rest in paradise my friend.
