Cheryl J. Simpson (Brechlin), age 87, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026.
Cheryl was born in Nebraska and throughout her life made her home in several Colorado communities, including Monument, Denver, and Black Forest. She built a life rooted in hard work, love for family, and enjoyment of life's simple pleasures. She worked for many years as a Dental Assistant and later as a Bank Teller, roles in which she was known for her dedication, kindness, and friendly nature. Cheryl truly enjoyed people, whether through her work or in her personal life.
In her free time, Cheryl loved attending concerts and watching live music. She also enjoyed relaxing at home watching television, following rodeos, and taking trips to the casinos—especially Cripple Creek, Black Hawk, and memorable trips to Las Vegas. Above all, she cherished spending time and creating lasting memories with her friends and family.
On September 5, 1992, Cheryl married the love of her life, Bill Simpson. They shared 34 years of marriage, marked by devotion, partnership, and enduring love.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Bill Simpson, her daughter Dawn Marie O'bar and her wife Susie Warmus, sister-in-law Terry Brechlin, niece Tanya Brechlin, step-son and step-daughter Russ and Julie Renck, grandchildren Tim and Alex, Joseph and Micah, Daniel and Elle, Josh and Bobbie Harp, Colyn Renck and great grandchildren Parker, Wes, August and Myla Renck.
Services will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable contributions be made in Cheryl's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Cheryl will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and she will be remembered for her warmth, joy of life, and unwavering love for her family.
