Claudia (Molly) McGee, 100, went to be with Jesus and to join her husband of 58 years, Lester (Fibber) McGee (February 22, 1992). She was born in Princeton, West Virginia to Jacob and Mariah Broce. The family homesteaded south of La Junta, Colorado in 1910 and moved to La Junta in 1926 where she worked in a laundry and Wiswell's Creamery. She met and married Lester J. McGee, September 22, 1934 in Rocky Ford, Colorado. They eventually settled in Las Animas, Colorado where they raised their family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; her mother and father, Jacob and Mariah Broce; her brother, Fred Broce. She is survived by her sister, Audrey Paetow; daughters: Shirley (Fred) Davison and Nancy Wesson (John) Graves; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild. Her love was to be of service to others and to Jesus, witnessing to everyone with whom she came in contact. She was a 4H leader for 25 years and did volunteer work for ten years at the nursing home in Las Animas, Colorado. She was a prayer warrior and touched many lives with her Christian example. Jeremiah 29:11-13; For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. A viewing will be held Thursday, October 20, 2005 in Las Animas, Colorado at the Horber Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. at the First Friends Church, 401 Carson, Las Animas, Colorado with Reverend Diane Hutson and Reverend John Hinshaw officiating. Claudia was a wonderful neighbor and beautiful Christian friend here at the Satellite. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her daughters and family that have taken such good care of their mom all these years.
