Cleo "Jean" Ives passed away peacefully in her sleep, at her home, from natural causes on November 7, 2023. She was 96 years "young." Both of her surviving children, Gay and Brent Ives, comforted her during her journey onward.

Jean lived a rich and re- warding life. Born and raised in Ellensburg, WA. At 23, she married an Air Force pilot (Maj. Roland E. Ives - deceased April 17, 2017).

As a military spouse, Jean followed her husband as they were stationed together at different Air Force bases every 1-3 years. They moved from Washington State to Mississippi, California, Alaska, Georgia, Florida, Italy, and lastly to Colorado Springs. The military provided an opportunity to learn of and see many different cultures, and it sparked their zest for travel. Through the decades, they hiked, skied, and camped their way throughout most of Europe and Mexico, making numerous friends along the way.

While living 65+ years in Colorado Springs, Jean worked at the Holiday Inn™, The Hilton Inn™, and Kaman™ Sciences as a reservationist. Later in life, she drove for Hertz™ and Budget™ rental services.

Jean always gave of herself to others, helping people in need. She was a charming conversationalist, a lover of horses, and a gifted singer. She sang as a mezzo-soprano and was a member of several choirs, including the Colorado Springs Choral Society, Soli deo Gloria, Abbey Singers, Village 7 Presbyterian Choir, and the Fountain Valley Choir.

Services for Jean will be held graveside at 1:00PM on May 31st, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetary - 1005 S. Hancock Blvd. Meet at the office/entrance 15 minutes early to be escorted to her gravesite.
