Dear Lydia & family,

We were so sorry to hear of Cliff's passing from his family in Va. My mom is his only surviving aunt on his dad's side of the family and it truly saddened her to think of Cliff's passing at his age. Cliff's parents were more like grandparents to me than an aunt & uncle and I have wonderful childhood memories of their visits. Cliff was 11 years older than me so what I remember most as a child was him coming with them to Emporia to visit and playing his guitar in our basement. I thought that was really cool. The other funny recollection I have is when my older sister Rita went to stay in Norfok with them during the summer and she & Cliff were teenagers and supposedly had walked down to the local fire house to hang out. Anyway, they were late coming back and Aunt Louise got them both with the fly swatter. I have heard that story for years and I'm not sure Rita or Cliff were telling the whole thing but they stuck by it.

I will truly miss my annual Christmas cards from Cliff with his "funny money" & pictures of the Colorado scenery and family. Hope your memories of your times together will help you get through this difficult time. I wish some of us could have been there for his memorial.

Much love to each of you.
