Daniel Gettman Obituary
In his almost 32 years, he accomplished much and touched many with his caring heart and zest for life. He lived on his own terms and was always ready for the next adventure. Dan loved Colorado, mountains and any outdoor activity, especially skiing. A main focus each year was spending as much time as he could on the slopes. He also enjoyed his Subaru WRX, motorcycles, hiking, biking, camping and Frisbee golf. His greatest joy was sharing those adventures with his family and a large circle of friends.
Dan graduated from Manitou Springs High School in 2000 and earned his bachelor's degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University in 2004, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He spent one of his college semesters studying abroad in Australia and continued his love of traveling throughout his life. He truly appreciated and enjoyed his current job as a Safety Director & Project Manager at Sky Blue Builders in Centennial, CO.
Dan knew what had to be done and made sure it happened. During the recent floods, he worked for two days to keep the waters from entering his parents' home while they were away. It was typical of his generous heart.
Daniel is survived by his most loving parents, Greg W. and Louise(Stafford)Gettman and the sister he adored, Jessica J. Gettman, all of Colorado Springs; his grandmother, Helen Jean Bremer of Norfolk, Neb.; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Those who were blessed to know him will forever miss his big smile and presence in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William C. Gettman, Fred H. and Aileen C. Stafford, all formerly of Norfolk, Neb.
Daniel's legacy of giving continues with the donation of his organs and tissues.
A celebration of his life will be held at his home in Lakewood, Co at 2PM on November 16.

Dan was such a special child and man. His love for life and others showed through in all his actions. I cherish all the time I got with my wonderful nephew. Hikes, games, mini bike riding, holidays, whatever it was it was always better with Dan there! May he feel the love in heaven.

Louise, I just wanted you to know how sorry I am to hear about Daniel, who left the earth way too soon. We don't do grieving well in America - please be patient with yourselves and each other as you find your way.
