David N. Weesner, 71 passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Dave was born November 29, 1949, to MSgt Howard and Ruth (Taylor) Weesner in Newburgh, New York. Growing up in a military family, Dave moved around the country before settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Widefield High school and received an architectural degree from University of Colorado in 1972. Dave had a highly successful career as an architect and his work can be seen throughout the state.

Dave was married to Karen Weesner (Sielken) on July 27, 1974. He was a man of God, a loving husband, and a great father and grandfather. He was an active member of First Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and played in several musicals. He was a member of the Pikes Peak Area Theatre Organ Society (PPATOS) and was instrumental in the Sack Lunch Serenade programs held at the City Auditorium. He was fond of the "Mighty Wurlitzer," but he loved playing programs and silent movies on his own personal theater organ, one of the largest in the state, now housed in the gymnasium at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Weesner. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Karen; his brother Phil and his wife Lori Weesner of Phoenix, Arizona; son Matthew and his wife Ashley Weesner of Kearney, Nebraska; and grandchildren Rylan and Ellie Weesner. He will be dearly missed by all he touched as he lived his life for the Lord.

Burial services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery at 10:00 am on Wednesday with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 am at First Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

I stopped by your office the other day. I was peering inside when your neighbor in the law firm came to visit with me. She told me you had passed. I was wondering why you hadn't replied to my emails or calls, which was totally outside of the Dave I knew. I'm very saddened by the news.

It was a true blessing to have been able to spend time with you and to work with you for a season of My Life. I truly enjoyed bringing your creative designs to life. Thank you for the education, and the fun, it was a pleasure!

Driving around town and seeing things we've built together will always remain deeply rewarding to me. Only designers and builders are able to drive around town and see paper dreams become reality.

I still have a lot of building left to do, would have loved to have continued on my journey with you. I'll be dedicating our last project together to you. You would be pleased to know Bruce Wolfe is going to step in for you. Hopefully you can look down and see it.

You'll be missed, Dave.

Cheers my friend.

So sorry that a still vibrant, talented and productive community member has unexpectedly passed. He was a very active member of the PP Theater Organ Society who will be immensely missed by its members and audiences.

I have worked with Dave for over 20 years. It is not the projects that I will remember, but the fun, deep, and inspiring conversations I had with him. He was a warm and genuine person who will be missed by all.
