Dolores Anne Stone passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at the age of ninety-one. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, she was the steady heart of her family and a lifelong caregiver.
Born January 6, 1935, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Dolores helped raise her four siblings and carried a strong sense of responsibility throughout her life. She once hoped to pursue medicine, possessing an intuitive understanding of the body and a natural healer's instinct. Though she chose to devote herself to raising her family, that calling to care never left her. In later years, she faithfully tended to a bedridden cousin, supported her granddaughter Lily during her battle with multiple sclerosis, and stood beside her husband, Harold B. Stone, during his hospice journey.
A graduate of Colorado Springs High School, Dolores had a gifted eye for art and design and created a warm, welcoming home centered around family, meals, and tradition. She was known for her independence, intelligence, dry humor, and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Stone; her son, Jeffrey Stone; and her granddaughter, Lily Stone. She is survived by her sons, Brad Stone and John Stone; her daughter, Rebecka Stone Evans; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held March 13, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at All Veterans Memorial and Cremation in Colorado Springs, followed by interment at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
