Dolores Anita Zabor, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 years old.
Dolores faced early loss, with the passing of her mother Beatrice Garduno, newborn sister Frances and followed by her father Ernest Garduno, while serving in WWII. She found strength and perseverance in her faith and prayer. Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She had many special relationships with countless family and friends.
Dolores is survived by her beloved husband, Leonard W. - they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 28th. Dolores is also survived by her children Leonard E. (Betty) Zabor, Kelly (Jim) Vinson, Pam Zabor, Jeff Zabor, and Monette (Alan) Krivanek; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with the seventh arriving in August. She was predeceased by her children Mike Zabor (1994) and Monique Zabor (1961).
Dolores's home was a lively hub of activity, filled with vibrant oranges and greens that reflected her zest for life. She often rearranged her colorful space, enjoying the process of making it her own and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Dolores greeted everyone into her home with open arms and was known for always having snacks ready. She couldn't let anyone leave without a small gift, a gesture that spoke volumes about her generous spirit. Her smile and laughter shone brightest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved playing games, including penny ante poker, dominoes, bingo and pool with her family and friends, bringing joy to their gatherings.
Dolores Zabor leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth and resilience. She will be deeply missed by her husband, family, friends and all who had the pleasure to know her.
