Dorothy Otoupalik Obituary

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Dorothy Mae Otoupalik, 66, of Colorado Springs died Sunday, May 21st. She was born in West Plains, Missouri on November 28, 1939 to Mary Lane Phillips and Obert Phillips. She moved to Colorado as a toddler. She graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo in 1957. She married Frank A. Otoupalik on May 8, 1959 in Pueblo, Colorado. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1967. Survivors include daughters: Vicki (Bill) Huffor of Woodland Park and Lisa Warren of Colorado Springs; her brother Jerry (Linda) Phillips of Muskogee, Oklahoma; grandchildren Ian Mankowski, Billy (Janet) Huffor, Kevin Huffor, Jacob Warren and Eli Warren, and numerous extended family members who all loved her deeply. Dorothy worked for many years for School District 11 as a secretary. She was a member of Gateway Presbyterian Church. She was active in the Elite Canasta Group, PEO, and the Red Hat Society. Dorothy loved life: God, her family, their cabin, traveling, music, reading, taking long walks. Every room she entered became brighter with her presence. Above all she loved her husband; they did everything together, and she will forever be Frank's sweetheart. Viewing is at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave., on Wednesday, May 24th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at Swan Law on Thursday, May 25th at 2:00 p.m.

Frank and Family, I did not know Dorothy that well but gained some insight in talking with you how special she was and how devoted the two of you were to each other. As you know I can relate to your loss and the sadness you feel. Please know in time you will have only happy, joyful memories of her and your time together. My thoughts are with you.

Friendship, Love & Prayers are with you all at this time.

What a wonderful life Dorothy shared with all of us. Her smile was addicting. Her personality spoke for itself. Treasure the special memories she helped make in your lives. She will always be a part of our lives and in our hearts. Frank, the love that you and Dorothy shared was so special. Many people never get the chance to give and receive love such as that.
