Some time in the early '60s I had gone up to the Chief's office to take my aunt to lunch. Both on the way to and from the restaurant it seemed more people waved and said,"Hi, Dottie" than didn't. Isure was proud to be walking the most popular women in town! I shall greatly miss you, Auntie Dottie.

Dottie was like a younger sister to my mom growing up in Lordsburg; and Mom was living with the SIngers when she married my Dad in 1930. They were lifelong buddies, keeping in touch and visiting many times even after Dorothy's family moved to the Springs. Also a native of Lordsburg, and growing up around them, I naturally thought Dottie and her folks were just part of the family. There was great love there.

I knew Dorothy since April 30, 1936, when I was born. My parents and Dorothy's were best friends in Lordsburg, NM. I only got to see Dorothy a couple of times since she and her mother hosted (hostessed) me during Christmas break during my Army basic training at Ft. Carson which seems like a thousand years ago. Rest in peace sweet lady.

I had the privilege of working with Dorothy at the CSPD in the early 70's. She was always someone I looked up to. I remember one time, under Chief Taggart, I sat in for Dorthy while she was on vacation. Chief said, "Don't worry, just don't touch anything and you'll be fine." Good memory. Rest in peace Dorothy.

I first met Dorothy in 1973 when she was secretary to Chief Oren Boling and had many interactions with her until her retirement. She was the consummate professional in both word and deed and was always impeccably dressed. Although I haven't seen her in years, I feel a certain emptiness knowing that she is gone. Rest In Peace, Dorothy. Your were a very special woman.
