Edward J. Bieker Obituary

Ed Bieker, age 83, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs passed away on April 16, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Edward Joseph Bieker was born on January 7, 1929 in Schoenchen, Kansas to the late Theobald and Anna (Specklein) Bieker. He married Dorothy Pauline Sexton Magee on April 19, 1986 at the Radiant Church in Colorado Springs. He was a member of Divine Redeemer Parish and was an avid Broncos fan. He also enjoyed visiting Cripple Creek. He is survived by his wife: Dorothy; his son: Christopher; his daughter: Cynthia; and his stepchildren: Kathryn Loper, Roderick, Michael, Jeffrey, and Joseph Magee. He has two grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his constant companion: "Toby," his toy poodle. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Mary (Dreiling) Bieker in 1970; three brothers; and four sisters. Memorial services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. Inurnment will follow at the Gate of Heaven, Patio Columbarium, which will be followed by a reception at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 North Logan Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Colorado Springs Humane Society.
