Frances Mae Reis (Micek)

Frances Mae Reis (Micek), 86, originally from Walsenburg Colorado, passed away May 10, 2023. She is
survived by her son Alan Marck; grandchildren Jeff (Cassie) Marck and Alex Marck; great granddaughters
Isabella and Makena Marck; and brothers Frank and Dick Micek. She was preceded in death by her
mother, Alene Micek, her father, Frank Micek, and her sister Shirley Gilas.
Fran was born on June 11, 1936, in Walsenburg. She worked for the State of Colorado for 28 years and
finally retired from Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs where she chose to reside for the
remainder of her life. She enjoyed socializing and spending time with her friends and family.
She wanted her body donated to science so that the research they do will hopefully help someone in the
future. Cremation will happen afterwards. Mass arrangements are pending the return of the ashes and
will be posted at a later date. There will be a private family ceremony at her son's cabin, where her
ashes will be inurned. She wanted it that way so it would be easy for family to visit her often.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Our family spent a fair amount of time with Frances. My mom Ethel and my brother Marty would go to Colorado Springs and meet up with Frances to visit. About 10 years ago she drove with my mom, my sister Mary Lou and I to Utah to visit with Charlene Zubal. Also Frances shared several of her family photos with our family. She will be greatly missed. Fran was a great help to the HOA at Pinon Glen. She participated in many events and was intricate in helping at the monthly meetings. She greeted everyone with a smile and a welcome. When she had to move she left her Bluestar pals with a big hole in their hearts. Always missed she's in our hearts forever.

Francie meant so much to my parents. When visiting with her in the past few years she loved to share pictures of the many memories with family and friends. God bless you and your family! I´m happy that you are free of pain.

I use to help Fran in her home. She loved helping others. I helped her learn more about her laptop. We even went to the neighborhood garage sales. It was a pleasure to know her and be with her. My condolences to her family and friends.
