Fred Strong Obituary
Fred was born to William Carter "Willie" Strong and Lottie Rolston Gilliam Strong in May, 1923.
Fred was a Retired Decorated Veteran with numerous medals and awards, including 2 Purple Hearts. He served our Country during WWII and the Korean War Conflict. He was also retired from Fountain Ft. Carson School District.
Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He loved fishing, camping, hunting and most outdoor activities with his family and friends.
He is survived by his beautiful wife of 71 years, Iva Strong, his sister, Jo Ann Templeton, daughter, Barbara Neberman, sons Carl Strong (Wilma) and Gary Strong (Kathy), 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daryl Strong, 3 sisters, Loretta Lane, Nell Darnell and Maggie Pierson and 2 brothers, Bent Strong and Carl Edgar Strong.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Dove Witt Funeral Home 6630 S. Hwy 85/87 Fountain, Colorado. Burial with Full Military Honors following at Fairview Cemetery, 757 S. Santa Fe Ave., Fountain, CO.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice in lieu of flowers.
