Georgia Gustafson Obituary

Georgia Faye Gustafson, a former long-time resident of Colorado Springs, entered into eternal life on July 22, 2006 in Sun City, AZ. Georgia was born on November 29, 1919 in Elmwood, WI, a daughter of the late Earl and Nellie Vann. She was married on June 19, 1944 in Red Wing, MN. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arnold F. Gustafson of Sun City, AZ, son Timothy (Margaret) of Colorado Springs, daughter Nancy (Dick) Greenfield of Sun City, AZ, and son Jonathan (Barbara) of Colorado Springs, as well as seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Georgia was the oldest of four children and is survived by a sister, Ardelle Ruble of Red Wing, MN and a brother, Hale Vann of Sun City, AZ. Georgia graduated from Red Wing High School and attended school for teacher training. She taught at several country grade schools before having children. Georgia was a born-again Christian and taught Sunday School classes for many years. Teaching was the love of her life. In 1958, Georgia and Arnold moved to Colorado Springs and became co-owners of the Christian Book and Music Store, where she specialized in Christian Education materials. They owned the store until they retired in 1980 and later moved to Sun City, AZ. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006, at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Baptist Church (where she was a charter member), 3195 Airport Road. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum Garden of Angels. A reception will follow committal services back at the church.
