Memories,

You brought a glimpse of beauty in my youth, after the war, a fresh breath of freedom.
You where nice to me.
Often , you let me look, how to make curls with fingers and pins.
Eleven years old that time, you became my princess. Sometimes you talked to me, I did not understand then. But there was always your smile and sparkling eyes. you gave me a golden necklace, a little heart of gold, that was my treasure. Everything was very short but I never forgot.
After years my sis and me ,where visiting you, and sometimes the humor and sparkling eyes came back .
Then the e-mail .A lot of short letters on my computer. And when I read them now, its as if you are still on the other side of the ocean.but you dont need that anymore.
My dear Gerdy, thanks for all the lovely memories you gave me Rest in Peace.
yours Iedje

My dear family, All my love and thoughts . She was a fine Lady.

Love you All your niece in Holland. Iedje

Lance, Brenda & Family,
It makes me sad to know that Lance's mom is no longer with us. I'm glad I had the chance to get to know her, she will be missed. Your mom will now be your angel, she will continue to guide you and watch over everyone. There is no pain in heaven and is now resting peacefully. Brenda & Lance, I wish I could have been there for you today, know that you were in my thoughts.

The Family of Gertrude Hoeckel,

I was very sorry to hear of Gertrude's passing. She was a delightful woman and I enjoyed talking to her. I visited her at home a few times and brought her a little black puppy "to take care of". She said one of her grandchildren had latched on to it. She seemed overwhelmed by my trivial gift and I am so glad I had the opportunity to bring a bit of pleasure into her life. On one of her last visits to the office (I work for Dr. Brightwell), I gave her the black puppy's golden-brown sister or brother. She seemed to enjoy receiving it.

My best to all of you. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

"Life brings tears, smiles and memories - the tears dry, the smiles fade, but the memories last forever". Author unknown.

I am thankful for the memories I have of Gertrude.

Most sincerely,

Joyce Johnson

Thank you mom. You were always there for me no matter what the circumstances may be. I hope that I was able to return some of the goodness you brought into this world, to you, in your time of need. As your cousin Hann would say with her Dutch accent "You are good people" I will never forget you. I will continue to aspire and grow in my remaining days. I will miss you always.

Your loving son,

Eduard Tyson Hoeckel
