Guadalupe Marie "Lupe" Veramontes-Koval, 39, passed away on March 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 21, 1986, in Tucson, Arizona, to Ronald Veramontes, Sr., and Juanita Espinoza.
On June 5, 2010, Lupe married the love of her life, Branden Koval. Together, they built a life centered around family and their three sons, Anthony, Colton, and Donavyn. Being their mother was Lupe's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She was a devoted baseball mom, known throughout the baseball community as "Mama Lupe." Whether cheering from the stands, encouraging players, or offering a warm hug, she supported every child as if they were her own.
Lupe had a vibrant personality and a heart that loved deeply. Her warmth, unforgettable hugs, and genuine kindness made people feel instantly welcome. She brought laughter, energy, and comfort wherever she went. To her family, she was a fiercely loyal sister, a protective and loving aunt, and Nina, and someone whose presence could light up any room.
Lupe is survived by her husband, Branden Koval; her sons, Anthony, Colton, and Donavyn; her father, Ronald Veramontes, Sr. (Cindy); her mother, Juanita Espinoza; her stepmother, Kimberly Dolan (Sean); and her mother-in-law, Susan Koval.
She is also survived by her siblings Jessica (Mike) Veramontes-Nunez, Lorraine (Tosh) Welch, Ronald Veramontes Jr., Liz Dolan, and Sean Dolan; her sister-in-law Jacsmin Koval (Josh); and her beloved nieces and nephews Gabriel, Avery, Ryder, Landon, Aviana, Addalyn, and McKenna. She also leaves behind her cherished grandmothers, Lupe Diaz, Anita Hymer, and Mary Butler, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Lupe was preceded in death by her stepfather, Mario Espinoza; her father-in-law, Darrell Fenton; her uncle, David Veramontes; her grandmothers Barbara Chana and Judy Fenton; and her grandfathers, Leonard Chana, John Hymer, Ben Veramontes, and Daniel Duran.
Lupe will always be remembered for her strength, her laughter, and the love she gave so freely. Her greatest devotion was to her family, especially her boys. Though her time here was far too short, the memories she created and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 29, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Colorado Springs Event Center, 3960 Palmer Park Blvd., Hall B, Colorado Springs, CO 80909.
