Henry Bresciani Obituary

Henry Joseph Bresciani died June 21, 2005 at the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb. Henry served as an official at the race since 1989 and was the finish-line flagman on Tuesday's practice session. Born May 24, 1938 in San Bernardino, California, Henry and his wife, Shirley, moved to Colorado Springs with their three children in 1971. Henry was a loving husband, a great father, and the best grandpa ever, who took pride in his family. His favorite charity was the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which he raised money for through his various car clubs. He loved volunteering for the International Hill Climb and was also involved with PPIR. He spent most of his life finishing custom homes, but those who knew him well would call him an artist. His most prized job was being asked to restore the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado, as he was one of few men in the country who knew the art of wood graining. Henry was known for odd jobs like interpreting for the Brazilian cycling team as well as wide-ranging interests including cycling, hunting, skiing, fishing, motorcycling and, of course, classic cars. Henry is survived by his wife, Shirley, his children and their spouses: Lori, Tom, Chris, Stephanie and Caryn; and his grandchildren: Tyler, Marchelo, Ashlyn, Tosh, Bree, Carly and Miles. He lived a decorated life and was loved by all who knew him. His laughter, charm and love of life will be desperately missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25 at 7:00pm at Chapel Hills Baptist Church.

Henry, I just found out that you are still remembered at the rally car races. Mitchell has raced a couple of times and they honor you before the race. What an honor to have been a part of your life. You are an extraordinary soul that is now rejoicing with Jesus. You are greatly missed and loved. Is that felt? Well it is now! Ha-Ha Love you!

I want to thank all of you that have visited this website and signed the guest book.

Your messages were so appreciated and the stories a joy to read.

Henry was loved by so many people. His children and grandchildren miss him so much. I miss him most of all as he was and will always be the love of my life.

God Bless all of you!

Henry was a kind and generous friend to us. We knew him and Shirley since the days of our kids going to Resurrection Academy here in Fontana. He donated long hours of carpentry and painting jobs to the school and church. We have many laughs with him and Shirley. One Halloween Resurrection had a costume party for the parents. He and Jack and others were the life of that party. We have a snapshot of Henry staring and pointing at Jack's legs which were clothed in pink panty hose. Henry was in an equally funny outfit. We helped Henry and Shirley pack and load the moving truck, that final night they lived here. We were sad to see them go, but we know they both had many happy years together in Colorado Springs. We visited them there years ago, and they also hosted our son David and his family, while they visited them, years later. He was always generous and gracious that way, as is Shirley. He is truly missed by us, and he will always hold a soft spot in our hearts. Jack and Sue with love.

Henry was a good friend at a tough time in my life. I remember him 'nagging' me about how I needed to paint an outbuilding of mine. I just said, yes, I know, but never got to it. One day I showed up at work, and there was Henry, just finishing up painting the building for me. "Oh, I just had some extra paint", he said, "no big deal." Yeah, right, an extra five gallons of paint in just the color I wanted!

I will never forget this gentle soul. I look forward to 'catching up' with him when we meet again.

Oh Henry, How can I ever thank you for all of your work and great advise with my new endeavor. Your dedication to your life, your family and your work has been such an awesome example to those of us "just starting out".

I will never forget when I first met you - Jake was bringing your tools to you when you were doing some work at Aerials.

I hope that I can eventually contribute as much to my family and to the community as you have.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I so saddened by the news of Henry's passing. Shirley, Lori, Chris and Karyn, my heart grieves with you at the loss. Henry taught me so much, I can hardly do any job around my house without using skills he taught me. Every time I paint, I think of him. He even taught me how to drive with my eyes closed (yes,I fell for that one). I miss you guys, and my heart is so sad. He was such a wonderful man, as evidenced by the quality of the children he raised. A more telling lagacy, a man could not leave behind. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Shirley and family,

It took awhile for me to come to grips with the email I received from Wanda telling of Henry's accident. I was so excited that we would all be together for the reunion. It has been fifty (50) years since we've seen one another. I am saddened to know that you guys will not be there.

Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. I pray for the sadness of Henry's passing to leave your heart. I pray for the joy and happiness of all of the years you spent with him to take over and warm you through and through. I am so proud that you and Henry kept alive the love for each other all these years. You are truly blessed! Henry will be there to greet you when your time on earth is done. In the meanwhile, he is in your heart, will remain there and you will see him each day in your children and grandchildren.

God's love for us is infinite. When times get tough and the feelings are overwhelming, PUSH! (Pray Until Something Happens)and He will see you through it.

I will miss you both at the reunion, and you will always be in my prayers. May God continue his blessings upon you and your family. I will see you again..... someday.

Love, Elva

Dear Sweet Henry,

I will miss you so much and I will also thank you every day for your gracious selflessness and ability to make others around you always feel good about themselves. I can assure you that your hilarious sense of humor and your kind heart lives on through your children and your grandchildren. We have cried a lot in grief, but we have also laughed to the point of tears sharing your stories and reminiscing about all the great times we have had. I am so proud to be part of your family. Shirley has always been a good, kind, and loving friend to me and a fantastic grandmother to both of our children. Your funny, sweet, empathetic, lovely daughter Caryn, your strong, exuberant, giving daughter Lori and her generous, loving husband Tom are all amazing people and I appreciate them all so much. I won't go on about the grandchildren because it would take too many pages, but they are all wonderful people to be very proud of. Chris is my soul mate, my best friend, and has more love in his heart than anyone I have ever known. He is a shining star in my life, just as you were. Your legacy lives on and I will always try to be a better person because of you and your ability to love so much. I will miss you always, "Hendri."

We have been blessed to know Henry Bresciani for many years and will miss him, but know that he is in a better place than we. I have never met a man that knew so much about cars and was so easy to talk to and laugh with. I am so glad we got to spend a little time with Henry and Shirley just 6 weeks ago at our grandson Marchelo Bresiciani's graduation and boy did we have a good time. We laughed and cried together and I am holding on to those memories. We will all miss you Henry but know you are watching over us from a better place. I am sure the following words are what

you are sending to us.

"If you could see where I have gone

The beauty of this place, and how it feels to know I'm home to see the Saviour's face; To wake in peace and know no fear, just joy beyond compare! While yet on earth you miss me still, you wouldn't want me there--If you could see where I have gone.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Shirley, Chris, Marchelo and family

Dear Shirley and Family,

My heart grieves for you at this sad time. You know how much our family loved Henry. I'll always remember his smiling face, and the great pictures he took at our family reunions. He held a special place in all of our hearts--especially Mom--who loved his kidding! I can't believe it, but I dreamt of him on Friday night, and I have never seen such a big, bright, beautiful smile on his face! Now he can make God laugh!

Love all of you,

Henry, we share in Shirley's loss.

We, the Ramirez/Raymer family will miss you greatly. You came to live with us early on and you were our 'brother'.

You sometimes made us laugh and sometimes you made us cry, but mostly you made us laugh.

We will always remember 'KiKi'! Like the last reunion you attended with your brother Herb, where we got to see more of you than expected. You did leave us laughing.

We, your aunts and uncles, will look forward to seeing you again.

I sit here at my computor searching for the words to express my deep sorrow and heart break in the lose of this unbelievably great loving man who was not only a friend but once my father In-law. I had the privlage of knowing Henry for over 25 years. We shared so many memories. He was there for the birth of my son his Grandson, Marchelo. I can still see the smile and pride on his face the first time he held his grandson. I saw that same look 6 weeks ago at my son's Collge Graduation. It is an unbelievable gift and privilage to have had the chance to see my great friend only 6 weeks ago, and catch up on old times. To hear that after all these years he still loved me the same, and still had a money clip I'd given him ment so much.I was not surprised though because this was how Henry was. He cared and loved deeply for family and friends. Its hard to imagine a world without this man in it. I will miss him more then I can express. But I will hold on to every memory I have and make it my life's goal to share each one often with my son, who I can say with pride has his Grandfather in him. Henry I love you and feel a peace knowing you are now in a place far better then we all are.Thank you for a life time of wonderful memories. I will miss you and think of you and Love you always. Pam
