Jack Brittain Obituary

Jack William Brittain April 10, 1932 - September 14, 2009 Jack passed away while visiting family in Southern California. He was preceded in death by parents August Irvin and Elizabeth Brittain and sister, Bonnie Lou Brittain Yorgason. He is survived by wife Ana Maria Paiva Brittain, sister Janice Roberta Brittain, children Jack Brittain II (Karen), Terri Bland (Terry), Joni Trizna (Walter), Scott Brittain (Betty), Judith Marie Sims (Eric), nephew Robert Yorgason II, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Jack was a native of Colorado Springs but relocated with his family to San Jose, California in the early sixties where he worked as a manufacturing engineer and production manager in various Silicon Valley companies. In the late seventies, he transferred to Brazil as the Director of National Semiconductor's production facility in Belo Horizonte. He continued to live in Brazil, moving to Manaus where he served as Director for two electronics companies until he retired. During his time in Brazil he met and married Ana Maria De Paiva. Following his retirement, Jack and Ana moved to Uberlandia, Brazil where they were near her extended family. Jack was a veteran of the US Navy and served aboard the USS Iowa during the Korean War. Jack was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for many years, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth and becoming a Scout leader as an adult. The Boy Scouts recognized his contributions to scouting with the Silver Beaver Award. Jack also served as Fire Chief of the Stratton Meadows Volunteer fire department until moving to California. Condolences may be sent to Jack's wife, Ana, in care of Janice Brittain at PO Box 872, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254. Donations in his memory can be made to the American Lung Association or the donation of a tree through www.arborday.org.

Just read the obituary, very nice. There are other Jack Brittains you may be related to.One passed away in Arizona about 3 years ago, and there are 2 who live in Alaska. Their geneology originates in Texas and moved to New Mexico Arizona are. Just a note of interest. Live on the way they wanted for you. That is what we can do.
